S6 CyberSafe@Home

Make the home safer without turning every check into homework.

Start with three useful checks: confirm updates, write down the devices and critical accounts that need later review, and remove browser extensions you do not recognise and trust. Do those before adding anything else to the list.

Simple order

After the first three

Once the quick check is done, come back for these next passes only when the household has breathing room.

Step 2 of 3

This week

  • Put important accounts into a password manager.
  • Check router firmware, admin settings and guest Wi‑Fi.
  • Review port forwards and backup codes.

Done when

Done when email, banking and cloud accounts have unique saved passwords, backup codes are stored, and the router no longer has obvious exposed settings.

Step 3 of 3

This month

  • Review smart devices and old routers.
  • Talk through family bypass rules.
  • Check telco controls, backups, work/home boundaries, and AI reading and action approval gates.

Done when

Done when the household knows what to ask about, what not to bypass, and who to call if a phone, bank, work account or password vault goes sideways.

If you need more

Pick one guide, not twelve

Use one guide when you have a specific problem. Ignore the rest until it matters.
